To contain the spread of SARS, property management companies place a plastic sheet on the combination lock at the entrance of buildings. They have it cleaned and changed on a regular basis. This is a used plastic sheet, bearing traces of residents' comings and goings. 3692 is the entry code for the building. (Amazingly, password was molded on the lock!) The box contains the plastic sheets of the other five blocks in the housing estate.

Mingpao Newspaper
On July 2, I stood on the footbridge over Leighton Road, looking at the path trodden by the demonstrators. I took a photograph. Putting the photograph on the newspaper of that day accidentally extended the sight. (In the second year of “1st July demonstration” (2004) in Hong Kong, demonstrators drop from 500,000 to 100,000. Many participators became onlookers.)

A Present to the Central Government
Part 1
01.07.2005 (15:00-17:00)
Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
I laid a piece of yellow cloth (0.2m x 10m) off on Hennessy Road to bear witness to the third 1st July march. Cutting across the route, it was there to get footprints of the marchers.
Part 2
17.07.2005 (10:00-17:35)
around the periphery of Tian On Men Square, Beijing
I tore the yellow cloth into tiny ribbons. Then, I tied the ribbons around the periphery of Tian On Men Square. (Afterward, a friend untied it from a distant.)

A Little Flower for the Passer-by
07.01.2005

A little flower arranged by five one-dollar coins
I arranged five one-dollar coins into the shape of a flower and placed them at the street corner. Then I drew it a twig and leaf and date (as a mark), waiting for those “in need” to pick them up. The one who picked them up would be like to receive a flower. The twig and leaf and date would remain, as well as the feeling of luck and blessing.

Put “Hong Kong” at the Center of Hong Kong
24.06.2004

I made a sign (a stainless steel sculpture) in the shape of Hong Kong Island, and put it at the center of the Hong Kong Island. I use a minimum rectangle to enclose the Hong Kong Island. The cross of the diagonals is the center of Hong Kong. The sculpture is 24.5cm X 13.7cm X 5cm. (During this period, people were debating on what kind of person should govern Hong Kong.)
